We are pleased to present this fantastic community singing group!
Singing For Your Memory is one of our oldest groups. In the past 5 years it has really grown in to something amazing. Infact, we are an award winning group! We won the Pride of Bucks Award for Outstanding Group.
If you or anybody you know would benefit from these sessions, please don't be shy, come down and give it a try, no experience necessary. You don't need to have a formal diagnosis, if you are finding that you are worried about any sort of memory loss or would like to see what we are about then join us for a fun, free session twice a month.
The session is run by Sue, our wonderful pianist, she's an ex teacher, so used to dealing with a rowdy group! We sing all kinds of songs from oldies, to 80s pop and showtunes.
Oh yes, there are some songs with actions...
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday
of each month from 11am - 12noon at Burnham Community Library, Windsor Lane, SL1 7HR.
The sessions are free to attend and all are welcome.
The venue is accessible. For more information please do call the office on 01628 661441.
It looks like we never sit still...
The night of the awards
We were over the moon to receive the Outstanding Group award. It was a fabulous night, listening to all of the good that is happening in our local area. We are lucky to have a core team who give up their time to come every session and help make the group so welcoming and well organised. The Beeches Community Board presented us with our award and it has been displayed at the BHPT office, the library, during the Christmas social and now lives with Sue...we just liked to show it off really!
Our award at the Christmas Social
At Christmas we have special festive sessions!
Twice a year at Christmas and during the Summer we gather together for a Singing For Your Memory Social.
We will sing Festive or Summery themed songs, have some refreshments and have some extra time to sit and chat together.
We open the sessions up to bring an extra person like a friend, family member or neighbour you wouldn't normally bring, to join in the fun.
This was last year with our hats and non-alcoholic fizz (we wouldn't want to affect our beautiful singing!)
