Like last time I wanted to do a longer piece on our Ladies wellbeing Afternoon. There are many people to thank and talk about, so many people to tell you about if you couldn’t make it, so many people who helped make the day a huge success! The event was all down to my colleague Lisa, who organises it meticulously, from early on in the year.
We wanted to spread the word about what’s available locally to aid & support wellbeing (as well as nice things to buy!) and also provide information sources for different ladies physical and mental wellbeing issues.
Oh the day we were joined by 70 women, 26 local vendors and 7 therapists with health and wellbeing for the peri & menopausal stage of life in mind! We started at 2.30 with the goody bags and I have to say it was lovely to see so many people milling around, chatting with their friends and a drink.
Round in the smaller hall we had Ruth assisting with the waiting for the therapists. They were offering a variety of treatments for ladies to try for a reduced rate! We know how important it is to look and feel good, to have that ‘me time’ (I have 3 kids, it’s a rare treat for me). We had mix of bodywork and beauty. You can find a list of the therapists we had on offer further down, along with their contact details.
Back in the main hall and we had a great raffle! All of the proceeds went to Care & Share, the local food distribution project here in Burnham. Some of the prizes included salon treatments, others some bubbly. All with wellbeing in mind.
Our manager Dawn was on the raffle table, we also had some Clean Conscience toiletry gift bags to raise money for Care & Share. Clean conscience donate unused luxury hotel/spa toiletries to good causes to help raise funds and stop waste.
Now on to the amazing vendors we had. Well, it was hard to know where to stop. When you think of health and wellbeing what does it mean to you. To me it means anything that makes me smile, feel happy and good about myself. So we had nutrition, exercise, plants, jewellery, crystals, aloe, candles and more! You can find a list further down with peoples contact details in case you missed them.
We also had 3 talks in the small hall throughout the afternoon. Apples To Zinc talked about nutrition in the peri/menopause, Pelvic Floor Balancing from Halsa Chiropractors and Meditation with Pranic Healing. These went down a treat.
We learn what to do differently, and try new things with each Wellbeing day. This is what keeps making them better and better. We are excited to say that we will be doing another one, horray. Watch out on social media for updates.
We want to thank everybody for coming, everyone for helping and giving up their day and everybody who donated items for the raffle and goody bags. Special thanks to Burnham Park Hall. It means a lot to us that so many people want to be involved.
